I don't worry about the room number. If there are 13 towels then their may be a problem.

I don't see the problem. I have always wondered what the big deal is. Just because you don't CALL the thirteenth floor the thirteenth floor does not stop it from BEING the thirteenth floor. Where's the logic?

My employee number is 13. I wonder if they did that on purpose. I do not have a problem with the number so I would stay in the room/ floor.

Well in hotels... and even cabins... there is never a 13th floor or room... well they don't call it that which is really stupid. Logic? None.

More than 80 percent of high-rises lack a 13th floor.
Many airports skip the 13th gate.
    Airplanes have no 13th aisle.
Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.
Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.
On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.
Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue
In France, socialites known as the quatorziens (fourteeners) once made themselves available as 14th guests to keep a dinner party from an unlucky fate.
Many triskaidekaphobes, as those who fear the unlucky integer are known, point to the ill-fated mission to the moon, Apollo 13.
If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck . Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names.

I was once booked in Room 12A on floor 12A.
And the receptionist said handing me the key, "Sir,
it's the 13th room as you turn left out of the lift."
And the lift had 'No. 13' button instead of 12A.
    Ruined my life!

Im not very sure from where this superstitious came. I guess its from Chinese people. Let it be. They dont like those numbers accumulated into 4. But for me, i feel those numbers lucky for me. I born on 13th, my gf on 4th. If its an evil number than what we gonna say after 3? 3.9+0.1? Ha ha...

I have never understood the aversion to 13 or anything associated with it.

13th floors, 13 items, row 13, section 13---I could not care less and perhaps it might even work out because there are fewer people competing for the space?

I've stayed on the 13th floor in hotels before. No problem. I've never seen a room 13 though. But I would have no problem. It's just a number. I once stayed in room 666 in a hotel in California. I thought it was amusing that it was the only room left.
