If the opinion is forced on others then it is NOT ok, if it is just an opinion then the speaker must take the fallout from less tolerent people.

Bigotry asserts its stand on certain issues. Bigots would never say that their statement is just an opinion. Bigots believe that what they say is gospel truth.

Bigotry is never OK. If I were to say all rednecks are back wood yokels because that would be my so called opinion, that doesn't justify my opinion since bigotry is a broad based form of hatred that is hardly justified.

It's ok - IF you can say to them that your OPINION is that they are an ignorant asshat and they accept it with a thoughtful nod and think deeply about it's inference and ramifications....otherwise it's not ok.

Bigotry is never okay, in my opinion- but being a bigot is everyone's right. I don't have any right to force them to think a certain way. I don't have to talk to them if I don't wish to.

Absolutely not. People can hold all the opinions and racist beliefs that they want. No problem. However, if they choose to share them publicly, they must be prepared to suffer the consquences, some of them legal. Of course it's "just an opinion." All hatred is. So is being inclusive and loving.

A bigot is entitled to his opinion in the same way as anybody else. But as with other opinions we are entitled to disreguard it!
