  • 1.) Mormons are very capable of having caffeine. It pours down our throats, stimulates us, and slowly becomes addictive to us the same as with any other person. Furthermore, there is no hard and fast rule against Mormons ingesting caffeine. Rather many (but not all) Mormons, myself included, choose to eschew caffeine on principles which are, generally, religiously founded. Most Mormons will cite the Word of Wisdom as their reason for eschewing caffeine, though it is not specifically mentioned. The Word of Wisdom, however, is usually interpreted to dictate a more general principle of not ingesting harmful, and especially habit-forming substances while making appropriate use of medicines and wholesome foods. 2.) Once again, Mormons, just like anyone else are very capable of going down to the local justice of the peace and being wedded to any other willing person of the opposite sex. In fact, the ONLY place a Mormon man can marry a non-Mormon woman is not in the temple. Such unions are generally frowned upon, but not strictly forbidden.
  • 1. Mormons can have caffine, there is no rule that they can't. They are just not allowed tea and coffee. 2. They can marry who they wish where they wish. However if one of them is non-mormon they are unable to get married in the temple and if the mormon is 'unworthy' he can't go to the temple anyway.
