It doesn't get much clearer than that -- Many Evangelical voters went to the polls solely because of the Gay marriage issue, they would not have left home otherwise, in fact, in 11 states, Evangelical Christians voted in unprecedented numbers, and they helped carry nine of those crucial states for President George W. Bush -- So your premise that the election was about the gay marriage issue, I think is correct.

I doubt it. Maybe it was those who didn't vote that got him re-elected. I personally am extremely loyal so I voted for him again (in our school election at Estacado Jr. High).
