It depends. When I don't find anything interesting on the home page (New arrivals), I search the categories that interest me.

After a quick look at the front page and maybe Answerbag category to see if anything has happened overnite, I usually go right to the categories. That's where I spend most of my time. That way I don't have to wade through a lot of the conversational type questions or some of the controversies. Even going through OUtside the Bag is better than using the front page or new arrivals. I also look at unanswered often.
