Don't do it you'll burn the house down! The dryer needs a (i think) 220 outlet.

No, you really need to have a proper hook-up for a dryer. Hire an electrician to run wiring for it from your circuit box. Dryers need different voltage, and they really need to be on their own circuit, just like air conditioners and a few other things.
-
You need to get an electrician to run a 220 volt wire from your electrical box to the location. Anything short of that will be quite risky with either fire or electrical shock, etc.
-
As they have said, get a profesional. This is nothing to be messin' with if you don't know what you are doing. It is dangerous and there are building codes to be concerned with.

Like previous answers have stated, you can't put a major appliance like that on a normal 125v outlet. If it has the large plug that means it is looking for a 220v outlet. I suggest having an electrician come and wire you one in if you really need it. Please don't try and do it yourself unless you know exactly what you are doing. I tried to wire in a 220 once and ended up zapped real bad.

Get a rope. Lynch your laundry. Drying outside, the old timey way, takes a bit longer to hang, but you don't worry about over heating, doesn't take much longer to take down than out of a dryer, your outside, and its cheap. I am impressed by your use of the word 'component' rather than adapter. An adapter is just something you plug in and then plug something else into it. Now a component is something that actually does something, ya plug it in and then plug your something in and thru the miracle of micro-chips and the process of elemination it folds your clothes and co=ordinates your wardrobe.

YOU not only need a 220 plug, you need a dryer sized receptacle. And you may need another or a bigger breaker in your breaker box. If you aren't familiar with electrical work, you should get an electrician to rewire your plug for an electric dryer.

you have to run a 30 amp ckt from your breaker panel to where the dryer is this can be done ether by attic or under house 30 amp double pole breaker #10/3 romax copper wire 30 amp dryer outlet can be surface mounted and box mounted in the wall Master Electrician 20 years

I had to have new wiring installed.
-
Do they have an adapter for this? A 110V to 220V adapter.
-
I take it you are a renter. On the other hand if you own/are buying the house you would pay for your electrician in about a year on what you would save from not going to the laundromat.
-
If you rent, ask your landlord if he would consider having the 220 wiring run for it.
