The best thing to do is to ignore. Most likely they just want attention, so depriving them of that is the best payback.

I agree, everyone is prejudice in some areas, even if they intellectually know it's wrong. We have to try to be honest about ourselves about where our prejudices lie. If you recognize you're prejudiced about something, it goes a long way to keeping you from acting in an unfair manner because of it.
