That depends on what you are talking about. If it's a painting of a sunrise then soft muted colors would capture it better. If it's a sunset, the deep, vibrant colors would be the better choice. I love them both.

Muted, actually! I like to paint in slightly tinted earth-tones. I guess between saturated and pastels I tend to lead more towards the saturated.
