I read mostly, Sometimes look out the window if I can see the terrain. I like to know where I am and I enjoy those little map displays on the back of the seats. And, usually, sip gin.

Sleep. I always look at the person next to me and say, "Wake me up if we start going down. I'd hate to miss anything". That usually makes them real comfortable. lol

I take a big book with me, and start reading it without stopping. The time runs faster when you do that. Tomorrow, October the 22nd, 2007, I have in schedule a non-stop flight from Newark to San Francisco.....so I will be needing a very fat book!

I read, sleep, and observe. When I am fortunate, I enjoy conversations with interesting seat-mates interspersed with more reading, sleeping, and observation. I also drink tomato juice which is a treat normally reserved for flights - preferably a Bloody Mary mix without the alcohol.

Since they won't let me fly the plane I choose to sleep.

this gives me a great chance to draw sleeping people, about the only time they will stay still long enough, and good music helps

Read, listen to iPod or chat if the person next to me wants to talk. In April I was on a flight from Atlanta to Indianapolis and spoke with the man next to me for most of the flight. A couple of weeks ago I was out shopping and this man stopped me and said "I think I know you, how do I know you?" and I said "We sat next to each other on a flight. Your name is Randy, isn't it?" He couldn't believe I remembered his name.

About 95% of the travel I do is for work, so I usually spend some time make a checklist of what I need to do when I land. Then I usually sleep.

Read charts, talk on the radio, chat with to person to my right, move levers, you know---pilot stuff....
