Clowns of course. They choose to put on all that makeup and clothing and run out and act crazy in front of big crowdes of people. Zombies don't choose to be good or evil, they just want to eat. You can't exactly blame them for scaring people, they're not doing it intentionally.

I am grown man and clowns scare the shit out of me. It was the movie Poltergeist that did it. The clown that wraps his arms around the boys bed had me up all night after I saw that.

Clowns are the embodiment of pure evil. Zombies are just mindless automatons with an insatiable need to feed (in the traditional sense, voodoo zombies and rage zombies are a different story). I actually heard an evolutionary-based theory as to why clowns are so damn freaky. It has to do with their faces. If a potential predator does not change its expression, you cannot figure out its intentions and make a decision to fight, flee, or befriend. So a fear of clowns and their unchanging expressions is possibly rooted in a proto-human fear of say... sabre tooth tigers with their unchanging maw.
