I've been single for almost a year now and I don't understand why. Even guys that have rejected me admit that I'm funny, smart, and pretty. So why is it so hard for me to get a guy?

Maybe you aren't confident enough in yourself, or you just aren't sending the right non-verbal signals. Try smiling and waving at a guy that you see that you like. Studies have shown that a lot of men will take that as a sign that you're interested.

maybe because you are looking? seriously, how many times have you looked for something - your keys,a stamp,some change) and once you stopped...there they were. I think it is the same with people.

Perhaps it is because you are trying too hard. Try and relax and do not try to make every situation become a hunt. Men can smell desperation as well as women. I find women are attracted to me, because I appear not to give a crap....but as soon as I consciously go out to pursue someone, I have a harder time. Good luck, love will find a way ;-)
