No more so that in the real world.

I don't. And unless my AB friends are really good at long term deception, I believe they are all genuine. That being said, I'm certain there are those who do. That's part of the allure of the online world. You can be whoever you want to be.

I don't think they pretend to much they don't realy have any reason to.
-
I think that it's more fun not to pretend. I assume that it's the same for other people. Ya know, people like to talk about themselves...
-
I've noticed at least one user with interesting contradictions in their questions and answers, and I'm sure there are tons more. None of the people I love to interact with, I'd hope, are anything like that...
-
How could you possibly know if someone is real or pretending? :)
-
I don't know I just got here. I'll guess some of them do and some of them don't. ;o)
-
Less than on most boards.
-
I've lied about my age before, but wtf. I'm 38 years old now.
-
One of the great things about AB is that it's a place you don't have to pretend. The anonymity here brings with it a freedom that makes pretending almost like wasting a valuable resource!!
-
Cheers.:-)
-
I don't feel a need to pretend. I may kid around or be silly but there is no reason for me to pretend. OK I am not the persona of my silly Avatars but that aside, I do not.
-
Since only a few of us will ever meet there is very little need to lie or pretend which is one of the beauties of AB. I do not think most people pretend , maybe a few we will never know for sure.
-
I don't know anybody on AB in real life (as far as I know!) so I'm more likely to be honest in my opinions.

I would not think so.. why would they? Most seek the net as a way to relax so I could not see how relaxing it would be to build a false image.. seems like it would be exhausting. I think that people who do make up things.. are a very small percentage.
