Mum was a hitter. I could deal with that. Dad, however, was the "let's sit down and talk about your irresponsibility" person. That I HATED. LOL

My mom used to make us (well, mostly me) copy lines anywhere from 100-500 times. "I will not [do whetever got me in trouble this time]." I remember once I got a 1,000-line assignment for something I did. I forget what. Kinda harsh on a pre-teen, I think. Also, I learned to read at 2 1/2 and have loved reading ever since. My mom used to tell me I couldn't read for a week or so as punishment. Got me right where I lived. At least she couldn't stop me bringing books to school. Neener neener, mom!

Being whipped by my stepfather..not spanked..whipped, by whatever was handy. And for the stupidest things..once because my little brother (half brother actually) left his toy outside and my stepfather ran over it with the car. I was supposed to have picked it up (I was supposed to have known this without being told). I was four. Usually when I was younger (3 to 8 or 9) he used a switch and he made sure that he got bare legs and brought blood. Later it was with sticks, bridles, belts, whatever..always making sure my mom was not around and threatening me if I told. My mother spanked me twice. I knew what I did wrong and I never did it again.

With my mom it was kneeling in the corner and asking God for forgiveness, almost literally. She was also fond of smacking me around. With my dad, he TRIED to punish me but he never really could. He was like, GO TO YOUR ROOM and I was like, k. I was always in my bedroom anyways. Mostly though he just didn't do anything lol, but he did give me a lot of lectures instead, and trying to make me understand the gravity of my actions. In the group homes I was always punished for something or another, mostly no television, no video games, ridiculous curfews, staying in the yard on weekends and not seeing friends who might be a bad influence on me, (Lol.) and one of them in the last home I was in, she took the television, VCR and Super Nintendo out of my room, and I had to stay in it for the longest time, I could only go out to go to the bathroom and eat and I was like SEVENTEEN. Matters were not simplified when I ran off from out of the window all the way into another neighbourhood. XD

Being ignored for long periods of time. I would never do it to a child. I think it's harmful long-term.
