  • He's a fat lazy American!
  • Maybe he had been working and/or driving all day and didn't want to leave the house when he finally got home. Maybe he had been drinking and shouldn't have been driving. Maybe he is disabled and it gives him pain to walk/drive. Maybe he figures his time is worth more than the few bucks extra it takes to pay for home delivery. It could be many things.
  • He is a really big tipper!
  • I thought there were only two choices in America, ring up for home delivery or eat out, although I did hear it rumoured that a couple of people have been known to actually use their kitchens for cooking, but they are probably radical liberal conservatives, so not really representative of the country as a whole.
  • Spoiled, lazy, ungrateful, complainer... pure and simple. Cheap bastard probably never tips the driver for the delivery. Gasoline is expensive. He should just drive to pick it up in the future. Leave the workers to prep and cook the food, not drive to this lazy bum's house.
  • Because the place offers delivery service? If I ordered delivery and they couldn't find my house, I'd tell them no thanks, I'll order from someplace else. What if I am drunk and hungry huh? what then? :P
  • I don't go out much because I don't drive. Maybe the guy don't want to drive or don't know how? Maybe the guy has no money for public transportation? Maybe the guy just want the food. And forget about the delivery?
  • Well, speaking from my own personal experience, there are a few good reasons I can think of. I generally work 60 hours within a five day stretch because my job requires it. It is also an hour drive each way to work. By the time I get home, I don't feel like driving again to get food, or like cooking. Maybe he was just too tired. There is a big difference between tired and lazy. For the last two months I have been off work due to an injury. I tore a lot of muscles and ligaments in my hip. I can walk without a noticable limp, or showing that it hurts, but I am actually in agony. Maybe he has a disability you CAN'T see. I have a friend that recently went through a very bad breakup and just doesn't want to be out around anyone. Perhaps he is having some sort of emotional issue. I agree gas isn't free anymore. But most restaurants now charge a delivery fee to cover that. Even if they don't the employee is usually reimbursed for any gas used, as well as paid for his time. Having said that, I also agree that some people plainly suffer from an overinflated sense of self-entitlement. They believe they should have everything they want, when they want and in the easiest way possible. Like people who are not handicapped that use handicapped parking or take 37 items into the 15 items or less checkout, or cut in line. Perhaps he is just one of those jerks. Who knows
