Do you think it's worse to be the oldest, youngest or middle child or the only boy/girl?

This is very interesting because I am in exactly this situation, having a brother and sister, both younger than me. I remember my sister saying to me once, "It's alright for you two - you're the oldest and Mark's the youngest." My answer was, "And it's alright for you, too because you're the only girl, so we're all unique."

I guess it all depends. In my case, I was the slightly-older kid (about a year), and always the one getting in trouble because, as the eldest, I should know better. However two years later when my sis had surpassed the age I got in trouble at, I was STILL the one getting in trouble for being the oldest! it was like there was no concept of numerical AGE, just older and younger! :) My parents really did prefer their "little one" though, and that's not just me. My sister has conceded to it and tried to help me deal. She's pretty much the coolest sister ever.
