If you ask me, the Yankees were the ones being the jerks. I mean seriously, why even offer someone a pay cut? I must say, I like how Torre handled it. He knew about the offer, and STILL went down to Florida, walked in the room and said NO DEAL. Way to stick it to 'em Joe!

I am currently looking at his press conference live and I think he is handling it with grace and dignity. In my opinion, he did the right thing. I like how he is answering those questions, with eloquence and he is classy as ever.

Okay....but why drag the entire television nation into it? Can't they run it on the news or sports channel? Is he the Manager of the Yankees or of the United States? Why should all of us care?
