  • my experiences: the ice maker runs the cooling of the entire fridge. A little plastic gear may be broken...a $2 part, but the labor will hurt. I am not saying that that is what it is...just a thought.
  • Hello, It sounds like you have defrost issue. The problem will continue to worsen until you defrost it. There should be no frost on the back wall of the freezer. If there is, this is a sure sign of a defrost issue. There is also something else to check. There is a fan that is down by the compressor that should run when the compressor does. If this fan does not run, the compressor will overheat and your temps will rise. This will cause damage to the compressor if not repaired. If you have frost build up on the freezer, defrost issue. If your compressor fan is not running, place a portable fan next to the fridge to temporarily fix the issue. Good Luck!
  • the fridge part not cooling is one issue, you need a pro for that. but the ice staying in the tray could be microscopic cracking in the tray that holds the cubes in. Replacing the tray is fairly simple. take your model number of the fridge to a dealer and order the tray.
