Here's one I took at the end of June....on Pride weekend, appropriately enough....a huge double rainbow! I saw it in my rear view mirror when I was driving on the highway...and pulled over on the shoulder to take a picture. Kristie thought sure I was going to get run over!

Shopping Sheryl - home from the hospital

Here are a couple that I took on my recent trip to Cape Cod:

On 9/26, there was a full moon. We went to the beach at low tide, and stayed for the sunset and the moonrise. For the two sunset pictures, we were actually walking out in the bay among the tidepools, so what you're seeing is sandbars, not the shoreline.

The moonrise picture is from the beach, and I caught the moon just coming over the beach grass in the foreground.

It was a lovely, lovely evening.

These are all pics I've taken.
The first one is a storm in the distance I took in Forked Island, La.
The second is of some storm clouds in the distance over a pond at my cousin's house in Cow Island, La.
The sunset is a pic I took with my camera phone in Lafayette, La.
The next one is a storm at sunrise I took in Santa Barbara, Ca.
The other two are just some clouds that looked cool. I took them in Rayne, La.

I thought it was kind of cool.

The first is a sunset from my patio, it must have been winter because the sun is quite a long way south. The second one is from the same place but the sun was setting farther to the north over the sea.

The first three are sunsets. They are the same sky taken about 5 minutes apart on my way home from work one night.
Then there is one of rays coming through the clouds taken in the same place as the sunsets.
The second to last one is a ray peaking through the clouds. That one is on I-10 in Lafayette, La.
The last one is the sun's rays shining through the pine trees early in the morning. It was also taken on I-10.

Did I already send this Jodie? Anyway this picture was taken across from my house right before a storm. It was totally gray outside and the clouds have an erie formation. By the way, those are buzzards perched in that dead tree... it all looks very ominous to me.

I think I had some sky photos that I took but in my Hubble-telescopic foresight I stored them on floppies and they've all gone bad. ;)

However, I have a nick from Google of a photo of something I'd love to see someday, the Aurora Borealis:

I can't upload the image because even though it's non-animated and JPEG, AB claims that it "Could not generate a thumbnail of an animated gif."

I'm using Firefox and I reported my trouble via the feedback link below.

    In the meanwhile, here's a link: http://serc.carleton.edu/images/departments/dep-activities/aurora_borealis.jpg

I'm glad you drew my special attention to that last one Jodie. I MET THE GUY WHO TOOK IT! It is Mt. Rainier, in Wash State, my home state, which is famous for having it's own weather zone. One day this ranger looked up to see a donut around the mountain and was lucky enough to have a camera handy, so snapped it. It has become a famous picture since then. Since I hike around there frequently, I happened to run into him and he told me the story of being able, accidentally, to glimpse such a glorious slice of nature.
