Great question, but actually a simple answer! I am from the US, so hurricanes were familiar to me. Now I am stationed south of the ITCZ, and they are different! The main, basic difference is that in the Northern Hemisphere they "spin" in a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE motion. In the Southern Hemisphere, they spin in a CLOCKWISE motion. This is the main difference between the two. The anatomy of the two are the same, and so is the way they are formed. Also, storms formed to the north of the ITCZ will move northward, never crossing the ITCZ. Same goes for the Southern Hemisphere storms. I hope this was helpful!
