Is stupidity bad? I don't mean mental retardation, or other illnesses, I mean stupid behaviour in the absence of such illness.

I know a few people like this and I mean they are really stupid. Just dumb as bricks..you cant teach them anything. Is it bad? Yes especially if when you are trying to teach them something and they think you are ridiculing them but youre only trying to help out in a very gracious way.

Yes. I know some people who really don't have a clue, and it can be irritating and cause so much trouble.

There is a time and place for silliness and stupidity. If the person is always acting up others can find the behaviour very annoying and it can also put off others wanting prospective relationships with that person.

In my better moments, like when it doesn't cause me fruestration... I demonize it a little less than just that. It is called ignorance. We are all ignorant, until experience and learning corrects it. When you teach someone over and over again... And they still don't get it. Then like ROn WHite says... You just can't fix stupid.

I think it's pretty hard to put that harsh a value judgement on someone who had nothing to say about being in that condition. Is our impatience with stupid people bad?

I wouldn't say stupidity is bad, in and of itself, but I would say it's no excuse for destructive or hurtful behaviour. So, in a way, stupidity isn't bad, but the consequences of stupidity may be bad. Stupid is also a very indefinite word. What do we mean by it, exactly?

Stupidity is bad. There will always be those folks who think that Bu$h got a raw deal from the media.

People are born with different gifts than others. We should share our strengths. However, I won't tolerate willful stupidity and I see a lot of that. It just pisses me off.
