Never, but I am donating plasma.
-
I haven't donated before, it just somehow never fits into my schedule with having children around all the time. I would if it worked out, though. Especially since you asked so very nicely.
-
Before each of my surgeries in '94 and '95. I really should at least donate blood every now and then.
-
Long time ago. Yes, it's a simple process that does save lives. Good of you to remind us all of that...Capt. has quite the heart... :)
-
I have never given blood - they keep refusing to take it.
-
I HATE needles. I have always thought about donating, but I always chicken out.
-
They won't allow me to donate blood as I am considered a "risk," because of my sexuality. I am cleaner then a can of Lysol. Tell me if that isn't blatant bigotry or what??!! I can only store my own blood for myself.
-
I would, but I'm so underweight and my veins are so bad they won't let me. Something about I might shrivel up and blow away.
-
I've always wanted to, but they won't accept my blood. I'm on to many prescription drugs. I have helped to work blood drives though, in high school and some now that I'm in college. If I can't give in one area, I give in another!
-
I did, for YEARS. I have rare blood - B negative. But we travel now, and we've been going to places they won't let you donate blood after visiting - China, Africa. They even made me wait a year after going to Cancun and Cozumel. I don't know if I'll ever be travel-free enough to donate again.
-
I will be donating blood for the first time on Friday. The library where I work hosts blood drives on a pretty regular basis. I am squeamish about needles, but one of the ladies I work with talked me into it. Yikes. Wish me luck.
-
I'm not allowed to. When I was younger, it was because I was underweight and anemic. Now, I'm immuno-compromised and on too many drugs. They don't want my lousy B+ stuff, I guess. My husband is type 0, and he donates every time he's eligible. I think he's got a gallon pin.
-
It was about a year ago I think. I did try to a few months ago but they wouldn't let me because I hadn't had lunch (?). I will go again at some point soon.
-
I haven't. But I can't, as I'm only 17 and I have a B12 deficiency.
-
About three months ago. And I am a regular doner. I am B pos. Not a large group.
-
I used to give 4 times a year. I haven't given for 6 months because last time I went they refused because I had lived in the UK, and they reject people who have lived there because of the BSE scare
-
When I was ini my early twenties, but now they won't let me because I'm gay. Never mind the fact that I always play safe and am tested very regularly, they said that I will never be allowed to donate blood.
-
I cannot donate blood, I am under weight.
-
I give blood several times a year. Not as often as I could since the time I fainted (first and only time in my life!). Plus I had to skip a few years because of tattoos and piercings.
-
gee i can't remember so i guess i should give to help save someones life.
-
ooh my, I donate blood all the time! (as you can see in my name...) If anyone, especially you, were in need of blood, I would love to lend a hand. That is one of the main reasons I donate. I feel as though I am helping others without having to go to school for many years to become a doctor.
-
I haven't donated blood because I'm afraid of needles, and I pass out just at the mere sight of blood.
-
I've went numerous times and was turned down every time because I'm anemic. Not like I didn't try!
-
It's been a while. I also donated platelets once, not fun but it was for a good cause. Every time I get a notification of a blood drive, I can't make it. I will donate soon if my doctor says it's OK. I had an operation last August and I'm on cholesterol medication.
-
i have given blood 3 times (well 3 attempts) the 2nd time i dont think id had enough to eat or drink as i nearly passed out they took some though, dunno if theyd have used it?! the last time was a couple of months ago so i must be due soon
-
Last time I went, I was in high school about 2-3 years ago. I ended up feeling drowsy myself so they had to stop it.
-
I tried but the dude screwed up so I have to wait for two months to try again!
-
I started donating about 14 years ago. I have gallons logged in. I have been advised not to give blood any more. I have become a hard stick and the techs say I should save my one remaining 'stickable' vein in case I need it some day.
-
I used to donate regularly however the last 2 times I tried I was told my iron count was to low. I even take iron supplements but am told it's still to low. I was fortunate that when I needed a transfusion in an emergency my friends and neighbors donated on my behalf which off set how much I would have had to pay for the blood I received. Insurance typically only covers the transfusion procedure and not the blood itself.
-
I donated blood about a week ago. I'm 17 and it was my second time. It's not that bad. I think everyone who can should do it. It could be your life you save.
-
I donate blood every chance I get. I don't have a lot of money to donate, but I have plenty of blood. That's how I look at it!
-
I would love to give, we had a drive at work, but I didn't weigh enough. I would gladly give, Im o pos. so I know it would be used fast:)
-
I can't due to low iron. They won't take my blood.
-
My donor ID card from Canadian Blood Services notes that October 1 was my last time. "My earliest convenience" cannot arrive until late November, but (God willing) I can offer my next donation of blood then. However...oh drat. I can't see any part of my blood lasting long enough for a trip halfway down the continent (from Edmonton, AB to Baton Rouge, LA). I'll have to content myself with helping out other people closer to home. I have 54 donations to my credit so far; more often than not, my donations are used in the form of non-pediatric platelets. And, for your viewing pleasure...

Three days ago. To date I have given just shy of 12 gallons. +5
