Personal question: I've been called in for a hip x-ray and they what to know what date my last period started.... Why is this?

x-rays can be especially harmful to the unborn, it's likely just to make sure you're not pregnant.

The radiologist is legally obligated to ask women of child bearing ages this question. It is the same reason they ask if there is any chance you could be pregnant. They would be held liable if they do an x-ray on you and you are pregnant. There is a chance harm may come to your unborn fetus. If they ask you and you give a definitive answer that you are not pregnant and/or the date of your last period they are no longer responsible if you give them incorrect information.

they did that to me too. but then my lawyer said that they werent allowed to or something......check it out
