  • Well, you could ask, is it possible for a straight person to 'turn' gay. It's something encoded in ones DNA, so you cannot change it any more than you can change blood type.
  • I am a bit upset by your question because if you are asking in hopes that someone you know will turn straight then you are wasting your time. The sexual preference of people have really been scientifically proven, you are born the way you are with a predispostion to one sex or the other based on levels of horemones and other factors. If you yourself are feeling attracted to memebers of the same sex and are uncomfortable about that then maybe you should talk to some sort of counselor. Being gay isnt something that people just make the decison about and there for really cant reverse the process.
  • Sure it is. Everyone seems to think it's genetic, which may be partly true, but it's also environmental. After all, if the environment never presents itself where a genetic trait can manifest, then the trait most likely never will.
  • absolutely not. just like it's impossible for someone straight to turn gay. our sexual orientation is genetic....just like your hair, eye or skin color. sure, you can color your hair, wear contacts, get a tan...but that's all a cover-up...a lie. it's not who you innately are. there are those who claim there's a "cure"...claim that "reparative therapy" can change those of us who are LGBT. it's nothing but the extreme right-wing trying to brain-wash the weak and gullible into lying to themselves and others. living a lie hurts everyone. people need to accept who they are and who others are...plain and simple.
  • Sure, but not in every case - some people just 'are' gay, as much as others 'are' straight. I don't know of many straight people who could 'turn gay' so-to-speak, infact many of the ones I know find it a bit disgusting - but respect their decisions none the less. Of the few gay people I know, it seems to be a very intrinsic part of who they are, if they ever did start 'being straight' I would suspect it as an act rather than a true change. Though as I said, sure in some cases people could change, but it's very important to realise that not everyone is capable of it since it is such an intrinsic part of them - just like being straight is for many heterosexuals.
  • I have a lot of gay friends and from what they tell me they know who they are and how they feel and turning straight is not a possibility. I'm sure like most things in life this is not a hard and fast rule.
  • NO. You are either straight, gay or bi sexual. Whatever you are be proud, that's how God made you & he makes no mistakes
  • I think if we are intellectually honest about the fact we reserve for ourselves the right to change as we desire, then we must allow for others to be able to change as well. I don't know how or why this transformation might happen, but I do know change happens, so it's not unthinkable; NO I AM NOT SAYING "Try to change people", I'm say change could happen. (As I brace for a shockwave)
  • only if they're actually bi
  • nope. Catholics try to use "counseling" to brainwash hetero feelings into people, but usually they go insane
  • It is just as possible as a straight person turning gay...My thought then come to would they be considered bi..they would always have those tendencies..I was to think but, i am not an expert...
  • lots of man man are BI, so you dont need to wait him to turn gay, he visits both clostets :> But its really hard to find out if the people are Bi, or straight. Easy if the man is gay :>
  • No person can get someone to be either straight.By the way it is not genetic, God does not create people that automatically go to hell. aLL THESE SINS IT LISTS ARE SINS THAT YOU WILL GO TO HELL EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE IN CHRIST, AND IS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR 1 Cor 6:9-12/// 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. (But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.)((GOD HELPS IF YOU WANT HIM TO)) Here how it goes if your gay then what you are doing will lead to hell even if you believe in Jesus. So what you have to do is follow God the best you can worship, pray, read the word. Sooner or later you will develop a guilt for being homosexual. Once you have that guilt you can ask God to change your from being gay. The reason God will not change you is.He will not go agauinst your will. God cannot change you if your not willing. So gay people like being that way cant ask God to change them cause they want to stay that way. God does not effect freewill. So he will not change them unless they want to be changed. By having the guilt after they been trying to follow God all the way . it (guilt)Will help them want to change because they will feel like there doing something wtong everytime. So they will be crying out to God to change them so there not gay. If your willing you will be changed. For someone that is gay and does not want to be gay ask God to help you and get prayer.(applies to Christians). When people have the thoughts are they gay, that is the devil trying to get you to think that your that so he can come in. YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE. So when thedevil it telling you inside your head that your gay do not believe him. Seek God and pray and worship and read the word. SO really it is a choice when it comes down to wether to believe the devil or not. Also the other sins that lead to death even if you believe in Jesus work the same way when it comes to HOW TO CHANGE/ tHOUGHTS TO DO THOSE DEADLY SINS ARE FROM THE DEVIL.
  • AND IF YOU DO NOT DEVELOP GUILT FOR IT. THEN YOUR HEART IS EITHER HARDENED(GUILT AND IS NOT HEARING FROM GOD) OR YOUR NOT TRYING TO FOLLOW JESUS.
  • I don't know really, from my point of view, it’s probably not possible for someone “LGBT” (lesbian, gay, bi, or transgender) to turn “straight” neither for someone “straight” to turn “LGBT”, if you think about it. I'd like to believe it just happens, if you don’t care about belonging to any kind of community-based stereotypes (“gay turned straight” stereotypes included) or if you don’t feel the need to justify or defend who you happen to be at this moment. Or simply put, I'd like to believe it just happens if you embrace life with fun and acceptance as life opens itself to you freely. Again I can only speak from my perception and personal experience. Freedom to be who I am, whoever I happen to be, i'd like that! jlPeace
  • Contrary to what most people think, I actually have many friends who recently turned gay. Meaning, girls that had had relationships with men and who are currently in relationships with girls. Maybe you can call them bisexual, but I am one of them and after my very first boyfriend (which was when I was 13), I am now totally lesbian. Isn't that considered "turning" gay? As for someone turning from gay to straight, I guess it applies the same way. I have a friend who was a lesbian butch in the past that just got married to a man. ;) Sexuality can be choice as well. Or influences. I think. But that's another question by itself.
  • short and simple truthful answer is NO!!!, the only way it could happen is if you were not gay in the first place in which case you were bisexual and not gay
  • Yes I suppose, it does happen just as people who are straight can turn gay. Some people make the wrong choice over their sexuality and swap sides.
  • Anne Heche did. She was with Ellen de Generes for a few years then moved on to a guy she married and had a kid with..then she dumped him for another guy she works with on a tv series and last I heard she is pregnant with another child by her new boyfriend. :)
  • No. That is not possible. Just something the right wingers like to think.
  • Anything is possible, some things are just less likely than others. This is one of those, for it to truly happen would be a very rare exception most likely only caused by a drastic physiological change or some kind of spiritual awakening; an extraordinary event if you will. Just my opinion.
  • I think it's possible only if people have a skill of mind power which can force themselves to be able to like the opposite sex. I believe that people only become one of the gays from their society for instance if you are a boy who study in a boy school you meet only boys and you start learning things you like about boy it makes you have a desire to want boys cause that's what you only see, but if you are in other society and you see both girls and boys you might like girls better than boy it depends on the situation whether you are from a family with like only raise from a mother that makes you take in your mother's personality and makes you have a angle of a women to like men. Another thing about turning straight to gay is it also possible I have been doing research and the result is that there are a gay website which takes a video of straight people doing stuff together by paying them a expensive price to do the job. The straight boy didn't like it at first but when they hire them to do it many many times the boys just change to like their own sex.(its not because of they are a bisexual it happens very often). So if you think about turning your way around I could say its possible but only you have a strong mind and force yourself to like the opposite sex(it won't be easy at first!)it takes time to make you straight only you would need to make yourself like the opposite sex. But if you think you want to change other people to gay I am afraid that's not possible the person must want to change themselves otherwise you can't make them change. Also I have a friend who is a women with the Christian belief could turn her on the contrary to her past she be comes attractive to men now. So I hope the people who's reading this passage you'll consider yourself whether you want yourself to change cause if once you started it you can't change it back. Please don't give up on yourself if you want to change and let me remind you that its not genetics whatever makes you happy that's a great life for you.As for tips I am available to help you to change your lifestyle email me at tips.advisor@hotmail.com
  • No - Follow your truth and happiness.
  • Sure, as long as you want to be miserable with someone of the opposite sex.
  • Well, if you can't turn gay I don't suppose you can turn straight either. I suppose a gay person could choose to life a straight life, but that's not the same thing as what you are asking.
  • I don't think so I've always heard of the opposite, you know these people are confused rate me down if you wish that's the way I feel
  • Yeah straight turn gay...gay can go straight!
  • eeni meeni mini mo catch a ................=5
  • Yes. I've known a couple of people who have had hormonal imballances that when corrected affected their sexual preference.
  • It would depend on which side of the fence you are on. If you are part of the gay community, and a member turns to the opposite sex, they might consider them to be 'gay'. By the same token, if a member of the straight community turned to the same sex, they would be considered 'gay'. Just a small observation on my part, but seriously, I believe that you are either straight or gay by nature, so that being said, nothing you do or don't do will change that. And, why should you try to change it? If you go against your very nature, it will blow up in your face one day, and you will inheritantly go back to your true nature anyways, possibly hurting others who may happen to be in your life at that point. I do believe that if a gay person does suddenly turn to the opposite sex, that they really were just confused to their sexual orientation from the start, and that their true nature finally took over, and they could not deny it once they discovered who they truly were. It is my opinion that we should not ever allow others to make us feel guilty for who or what we are, because some things are simply not in our control.
  • Forget about it. Straights don't turn gay either. Yes, men can have SEX with both female or male, or even anything with a whole in it for that matter. But getting your rocks of doesn't equal LOVE! No matter how good it feels. By birth you're either HARDWIRED to get butterflies from men, women or both. (Or goats an chickens for all I care) It's not about who you can have sex with, it's about who you can fall in love with.
  • It's in the realm of possibility. Though I'd hate to be the person that made a straight person go gay...
  • I "turn" straight once in a while. My best friend and his wife want to have kids and hes sterile. She is the only girl i have truly loved. So i do whatever i can to make her happy. I have had sex with her 10 times, but each time there are no feelings of wanting be with a women. When we are having sex, im thinking of my boyfriend. I dont think its possible to one day wake up and say Im not gay anymore.
  • The problem is Labels - Sexuality is a complex issue and everyone's interpretation / experience of it is unique - Reminds me of the Alan Bennett quote - he has very rarely been in relationships - but when he has, he has had relationships with both men and women - when the press asked him about his Sexuality - he answer was somelike . . thats an absurd question. Its like asking someone who is dying of thirst in a desert whether he prefers evian or perrier spring water!
