Has it ever worked? For starters, if you are using an older model PS2 and are using the newer molder Remote, there is a piece missing... The IR (infra red) Receiver. The first 2 or 3 models of the PS2 did not have a built in IR Reciever so the remote had to come with one. SCEA has stopped producing the older remotes and units. The more up-to-date PS2s come with built in IR Receivers. As such, the newer remotes do not come with the IR Receiver. Your best bet if this is the case is finding a used one on Ebay or a game store that sells used equipment. ---------------------------------------- If the remote has worked in the past, there are far too many variables to consider with so little information other than "it doesn't work". However, we do need to ask the obvious: Does it have working batteries?

hey i am having issues with my ps2 remote as well. it does not work , all i can get it to do is act like a controller. the area around the symbols is all that works none of the remote part of the controller works , it used to work till i took off for vacation and it took it with me.
