Yes, my mother did when I was a child. Since then, my daughter crocheted a scarf for me, a friend made a beautiful blouse for me, and my niece made me an evening wrap.
Does a fig leaf count?
My mother made most of my clothes growing up. Thanks to what I learned from her, I now make some traditional Native American clothing for my family and myself.
My sister knitted me a winter scarf....that girl has talent.
my grandmother made me a winter coat when I was in preschool. The inside lining was pink while the outside was rainbow cat print. The pockets were cat face shaped and were pink-the same as the lining, the hood was detachable, and the buttons were cat faces also....as a little girl this was the perfect coat.
My Mother, tried her hand at sewing when I was a little girl and since the sleeves didn't fall of the 2 outfits that she had made me(it was her first time then)and she just couldn't get into it after that.
My mum made my wedding dress for me, 14 years ago. She also made 4 bridesmaid dresses, her outfit, my grandmother's outfir and my brothers 2 suits. Oh, she also made our cake too! My mum is simply FABULOUS! Love you, Mum!
Incidentally, I'm still married!

My Grandmother did, now I adore designing and making my own clothes

Yes, my mother used to make most of my clothes when I was growing up. She taught me how to sew as well. I learned to sew on an antique Singer sewing machine. Instead of a foot pedal it had a bar that you pressed with your knee to make the machine run. I've never seen another one like it since.
My mom..she was a seamstress so she made all our clothes..my younger sister's and mine. She worked for some local designers sewing their samples for runway shows and presentation of each designer's new line. She did beautiful work. I, on the other hand, made one thing for my son..a bathrobe when he was about 2..he was able to wear it until he was six because I had very big hems and kept letting them out to fit him..it was a red robe and I was very proud of it. He probably doesn't even remember! :)

My grandma made me a scarf once.
Tho' this question is kind of old (LoL), I have to answer yes, unfortunately. We grew up "dirt" poor, and my Mom HAD to try and make and patch clothes. One time, she made my little brother and I these funky looking shirts that she said the actor Tony Curtis always wore. She actually did a fairly good job on them, but, as I said to her then ... I am NOT a Tony Curtis fan! But, we had to wear them anyway.
The best thing she ever did was, we had to get our jeans thru the Sears catalog (plain old straight-legged, colored jeans that cost about $2 or $3 bucks a pair). Well, at that time, EVERYONE wore "bell-bottoms", so, as usual, we were way behind the times. Well, one week-end, she got an idea and spent the whole week-end altering our jeans. She took each pair, split the 2 seams on each leg, up about 8 inches, and inserted material to make them into bell-bottoms! She actually started a trend ... (half the kids went home and told their Moms to make some just like it)! That was one of the VERY few times, as a kid, that we were considered kinda cool, even tho' dirt poor!
yeah my mom used to sew me beautiful dresses and they made me feel like a princess and now ive taken over the job....lolz its really nice and a calm thing to do
yeah its easy actually.in my country people make all sorts of clothing, even if their poor or not!

Yes, my mother made me a designer evening dress when I was 14. She was a brilliant seamstress.
When I was younger, my grandmother made me some nightgowns and things. But more recently, I had a friend in San Francisco knit a pair of socks just for me and gave them to me when I visited her. Then last February, a friend of mine in Sweden knitted a pair of socks for me and gave them to me while I was there visiting. They are my most valued clothing items.
yes and the worse is : i had to wear it out
My grandpa was a taylor (he did not sew my old blue jeans like the House of the Rising Sun song though). He made clothes that were so unbelievably perfect, he could have been in a top design house. He made me a suit when I was 16 from a picture I showed him. He was awesome. Anyway, he inspired me to learn the craft and while I cannot touch him, I am a good seamstress.
Yes, my aunt made a poodle skirt for me, another aunt knitted a sweater for me and my sister knitted a hooded scarf for me!
Yes when we where younger my mam knitted jumpers with patterns of clowns and santa on them it was great and they kept you warm :)
My grandmother made quite a few pieces of clothing for me. Back when poodle skirts were popular, my aunt made a beautiful one for me, she also knitted sweatters for me.
My sister-in-law made my bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. Hmm, I am divorced now tho... maybe was the dresses?
LOL
My dad made most of my clothes growing up and my older sisters and my mothers too. He taught me to sew at 12. He worked a full time job for the government where he planned and maintained every kind of jet or helicopter, prop that the government used to train it's pilots and was out of town a lot for meetings on designing the aircraft. He also would tear apart a car and put it together again, could fix anything like a t.v. or radio, built a 3,000 square foot house by scratch all alone after work each day and weekend and had it paid off by the time he finished it 5 years later. He bought mother a sewing machine in 1949 and she didn't know how to use it so he taught himself how to do it and then taught her. She could never put in zippers and he could do anything ( without a pattern) and when he died the first thing she said was "who will put in my zippers now? He did everything for me." The man was a genius, made beautiful jewelry to go with my mother's gowns for formal wear and was very artistic. There was nothing that man couldn't do. Including grow all of our food and take care of our cattle and livestock. They don't make men like that anymore. Incidentally, he was EXTREMELY macho and hunted and fished all of the time. He built a 5 acre stocked fish pond in his back yard when he finished building the house.
Oh yes. My mom made alot of my clothes when I was little. I wish I had saved more of her work. I do have a sweater she knitted for me when I was a child and two vests she crocheted for me.
