  • I am surprised, as I have never heard of these "tonsil stones" before and I do have allergies and hayfever. And of course folks here in the bag know I have vulgar tastes, as for my odor, well I have been wondering why I keep getting bumped off line. As for coming from your tonsils, dear Auntie Em clarified that. ( Clarified was a poor choice of words, I apologize.) In fact I found at this web site http://www.healthboards.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-68633.html which seems to be a messge board for folks afflicted with the condition, that not only do they come from the tonsils, they come from the "tonsil CRYPTS", it just keeps getting worse and worse. In addition to Auntie's remedies, the people there recommend drinking lots of water. Contrary to my usual practice I do NOT suggest that you visit and verify my citations, for there you will read a post by a person who, and i quote, "can actually scoop them out ."
  • Its called thrush. see a doctor........fast!
  • The lovely objects to which you are referring are actually called "crips" and are the wonderful product of sinusitis. Using a saline nasal spray and gargling with salt water are very helpful, I haven't had them in quite some time just using these techniques and have found that I do get fewer colds, sinus infections, and sore throats. If you still don't find relief then antihistamines like claritin or benedryl help or nasal sprays like Flonase or Nasonex that can be prescribed by your doctor.
  • Crips>? WHAT! Im a BLOOD bitch, jk lo. I thought there were tonsil stones? They are by far the rest smelling things I have ever smelt. In the past I often had bad breath and now I know why, I swear I hope I dont cough out a 5th one, and the fact that iv probably swallowed a few creeps me out!
  • I get them also, but they really do come from your tonsils. Food gets caught in your tonsils and hangs out there for a while and festers. Then it falls out and you can feel them. It's really gross. They will only go away if you get rid of your tonsils.
  • it sounds like either sinusitis or tonsilitis....you need to go see and ENT, and Ear Nose and Throat doctor........take care....Brian....
  • They appear to be right at the back of the mouth. I used to use a tube and literally suck them out for a friend of mine. I think it's just food particles or something getting stuck in the cavities. Most of the time they'd pop out by themselves, but every so often they'd get stuck and irritate. Found that a silicon, medical grade tube worked best: Didn't have a sharp edge, could be positioned relatively easily. I installed a little filter at my end so I didn't suck the things into my mouth. That'd be a little wrong. Perhaps one of those sucking machines that dentists use would be more convenient.
