Into a wrong and dangerous long-term direction. Bush's Administration used, and still uses, fear to attempt to get what they want. When you measure it, it doesn’t accomplish much, but it does scare people. In almost eight years, George W. Bush has taught Americans to lie, cheat, steal, torture, violate the constitution, back-stab your friends, appoint idiots who are unqualified friends, use God’s name to justify his penchant for violence, which is manifest in nothing so much as his glib use of the word evil, and let our troops die based on lies and greed for oil -- Lies just kept on coming day after day, and we're now just waiting for Cheney to say it was Harry Potter that made the Weapons Of Mass Destruction disappear from Iraq. From his Oval Office Bush lies in order to 'confuse' issues enough so that those who need and/or want to keep George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Karl Rove in power for their purposes (Anti-Abortion, big filthy businesses, anti-gay, prayer in school, rich pay less taxes, etc.) can justify continued support of immoral Bush/Cheney/Rove. After this administration everyone is going to hate us, so I say let's attack the world, continent by continent -- We can claim we are there to liberate our people since the United States Of America has citizens from every country in the world. Bush employed apocalyptic terms to convince the American people that they must acquiesce in a global war of indefinite duration, against a host of as yet unnamed enemies, with no limit on the death and destruction to be meted out to people outside the US, or the toll in body bags containing the remains of American soldiers Anyone falling for today’s ‘George W. Bush's truth’ needs to be slapped, including any talking heads that give Bush a pass on it.

I understand, kedar. What we crave comes slowly, but what we enjoy flies by quickly. Time is relative. There is but a short time till the next administration, whatever it will be. Everyone hopes for a "great change" for the better with each new "regime". It rarely happens. All the same problems remain. And new problems will always arise. We only cast our votes and ..hope.
