The codec I use, FFDshow, which was installed with the K-Lite megacodec pack, shows an icon in the system tray next to the clock when in use. Right-clicking on it offers many options, with "flip" near the bottom. Selecting this, if you have it, will show the movie the right way up. If you have this problem frequently it may be necessary to uninstall your codec(s) and replace or reinstall them. Problems can arise from conflicts between codecs, so this must be done with care, but the free codecs from K-Lite usually deal with these issues well during installation as they offer to uninstall any which might later cause difficulties.
