  • Let me get this straight...you were driving your boyfriend's grandfather's car? Okay, if that is correct read on. You will only be covered by his insurance if his insurance policy is on ALL drivers. If not, then no, his insurance doesn't have to pay. Also, it is ALWAYS (at least according to insurance) your fault. Unless you are rear ended, insurance puts some blame on you and some on the other driver (depending on the situation, percents are changed *70% their fault 30% yours etc*)
  • Insurance laws are different in each state. Yes, if you are hurt(as a passenger) as a result of an accident and your driver was at fault, then he is liable for your damages, i.e. treatment of whiplash. You can pursue him and/or his insurance co. He may not have coverage for this type of claim.
  • Insurance isn't the lottery. It's a way of paying for catastrophes, and if the only problem is "it hurts a little even 11 days after," thank God it wasn't worse and forget it. If you make a claim his premium may go up, perhaps significantly, and that'll make for bad vibes with a possible future relative.
