  • Nope, but it doesn't bother me if other people reach a different conclusion. :)
  • Nope, there are many "one true religions", and one day we will find out who is right, keep your fingers crossed :-)
  • No I do not. I don't think there is such a thing.
  • I am a Catholic but I believe everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and to each individual theirs is the real truth.
  • In the sense that "catholic" with a small "c" means, universal, it is the one church. In the sense of a large "C" organization, it is just one of many true churches.
  • It depends upon your definition of 'true.' It's a religion.
  • No and I am a Catholic. To me there is no such thing as one true religion.
  • As I was raised as one, I'm "supposed" to say yes. That point is reinforced over and over again in its teachings and beliefs. However, I've learned throughout the years to respect and even appreciate other religions and beliefs.
  • Obviously not seeing as I am not a Catholic. However, that does not mean that I don't respect their right to believe as they wish.
  • No and because of their claim that it is, my take is that it is not "true" at all.
  • Um, no.
  • The idea of Catholicism is that all religions are the same, so....yeah.
  • I believe that Jesus Christ being the Son of God and Savior of man is the one thing that must be preached to make a religion true.
  • I believe that Catholicism is the one true Christian religion, but I also believe that non-christian religions that pre-date it and are still around today could be considered true, just not "true" and "Christian".
  • My father was raised as a Catholic and when he and his mother learned that many teachings and activities of the Catholic church are in direct conflict with what is in the Bible, the resigned. There are so many things such as immortality of the soul, the Trinity, Hellfire, Purgatory, use of images, involvement in politics and warfare... my answer would have to be NO.
  • no - raised catholic. i honestly doubt that any organized religion is one and true because it's been in the hands of man, and even if man didn't corrupt the religion or whatever, it still may interpret it incorrectly based on the fact that humans are by nature imperfect. but there is undoubted truth in every religion. **edit** might i also add that each person may be destined for a religion or lack thereof based on the beliefs that they hold. to each individual there might be a religion that has the most truth out of any, even if it isn't all truth in their minds
  • it is for the one billion plus catholics worldwide, just as protestant christianity is true to another one billion or so. as is islam is to about a billion plus. and hinduism and buddhaism is to the billion plus. who has the one true religion??? God does and Hes not telling anymore...figure it out for yourself..blessings
  • If I didn't, I wouldn't be a Catholic. While I respect other faiths, they cannot all be correct and at the same time contradict each other. It's only logical. If I thought my Church was 90% correct, I would not stick around and put myself in a situation where I know 10% of the time I'm going to be misled.
  • lol...lol...lol.. no!!!
  • Maybe in the world of pedophiles
  • If I did, I would be catholic. The fact that I'm not should tell you your answer.
  • Surely, religion is full of con artists, sexual offenders & criminals. However, other denominations let the authorities deal with the offenders as they should. The Catholic church, however, transfers the offenders to another parish, shushes the victims and sweeps the whole affair under the rug. It would be very difficult for you to deny that the Catholic church has produced the largest number of pedophiles of any other organization in the world
  • No, fortunately there is no such thing.
  • No I dont I believe that if we ever did have knowledge of true religion that it was manipulated by the hands of man so much so, that it was lost many centuries ago.
  • Here we go with the controversy, but not from me.
  • No, but, I do believe in one True god.
  • No such thing. Besides, religion does not save anyone. only a right relationship with God can do that. All religion [man's reaching out to God] can do is point people in the right general direction.
  • There is no 'true' religion. Catholicism is only an adaptation by the church fathers of a Romanesque variation of the teaching of St Paul who didn't even know Jesus. As for all the other 'Christian' religions, they have as much connection to the ethics of Christ as Smoky Bacon Crisps have to Porky the Pig.
  • Geewiz I sure hope so. I belive there used to be a free country that led the people who inhabited the land to think so.
  • A few? Are you guys following the news? When a denomination such as the Catholic church has to file bankruptcy in a state to get out of its financial obligations due victims of these crimes as a results of legal proceedings, that is hardly representative of a "few" instances. This is not one news story, these are tons of publicized stories all over the country. How many are there that went unreported? Sorry, but you can't cover the sun with one finger and pretend it's not happening
  • there are 2 ways to heaven. live a perfect life according to ones religion or moral beliefs. even in deepest darkest africa people have realized that they can be less than perfect according to their own personal standards. break your own moral code, even once and youre destined not to heaven; but to reincarnation (as budhists and others believe) or to another place lower than heaven (we all know where we believe this is; some have other ideas). or (2) or we can accept forgiveness and grace from God...even in the old testament and deepest darkest africa. mankind has realized that God has a plan for salvation...even if they dont know the details. most of the world know the details. either way, accepting what one knows of these details is counted faithfulness. all religions are based on one of these 2 choices.
  • What part is true? The trinity is not even mentioned in the bible. The priests adhering to their "celibacy". There are a lot of people leaving the catholic church. The pope calls it "the bleeding".
  • No I am all for Nondenomination. I believe in one bible and one God. I think it is a bunch of crap when you are told how you should dress, what you shouldn't pierce, what you shouldn't do, blah blah blah....I respect all denominations I just believe that there shouldn't be different beliefs when it is all taught from the same book, I guess people just twist to how they want it to read.
  • LOL!! Ummmm, no.
  • No. Christianity, "the way" whatever you call believing in Jesus Christ is the "one true" religion. Denomination are of men. They are just here to help guide us along in life. We all get things wrong. I know that even what I believe has to have some things wrong and that only Jesus can truly save me.
  • what i think is not important. opinions vary from person to another. what does the bible say? that is what is important, if we want to find out what is the right religion. of course it is important to believe that the bible is inspired of God. having said that, there are questions that the church has to answer to qualify as the true religion. for instance, jesus said his followers were not part of this world. has the catholic church practiced this, or have they been involved in affairs of the world, especially politically? do they teach their members respect for the bible? there are so many other questions that need responding, these are but a few.
  • No, of course not. I realize how very biased the media is in this country, covering only on the wrongdoing of such holy and godly individuals instead of the vile teachers who are molesting children en masse. What do you think would happen if I do the same search about the Catholic church? Besides, what you seem to overlook is the sheer, utter and absolute hypocrisy of it all. Teachers don't claim a god or a heaven or a hell in order to do what they do. They do it out of a true calling and with very little pay to boot. They're public servants and not 'servants of god' – too bad you can’t see the difference Does 4% of all Catholic priests involving is some kind of allegation involving sexual molestation sound like small potatoes to me? Of course, I'm not Catholic but it sounds outrageous and a tragedy to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Church_sex_abuse_scandal
  • How soon you young people forget! The Church of Elvis is the One True Church. Repent! For Elvis died for your sins. One day Elvis will return and He will give Cadillacs to all who believe in Him. Woe to the faithless, for they shall be swept out into the Dark, with the weeping and gnashing of teeth. They shall be kicked to the curb and sentenced to take the bus and listen to brats playing rap 'music' for all eternity.
  • No. Take confession for instance. What gives a mere man the right to absolve his sins? That should only be done by God. Where does it say in the Bible about mortals absolving sins.
  • Absolutely not...
  • You've got to be kidding.
  • I think there is no one true religion. All religions are true..no one is better than any other. The problem is that some people who follow certain religions think they are better than others because they believe their faith is better. I don't believe that at all. Happy Friday! :)
  • Let me put it this way.... If a child is born in India and brought up as a Muslim. He leads a life dedicated to helping others, the sickly and elderly and uses all his time and all his money helping others. He will have never even heard of Christianity because every1 in his little village is Muslim. But since he doesn't believe In Jesus Christ, in the eyes of the catholic church, he will go to hell. How can this be THE true religion?
  • NO. There is no ONE true religion. Any religion in which its adherents claim such a thing is primitive and, in many cases over the centuries, has been the cause of war, persecution, oppression, torture and disunity among the human family...
  • Not exactly. While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches: Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements. Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him. • No. I think that Satanism is more truthful than catholicism. I do not like christianity, but I think that catholicism is an abomination to christianity.
  • Well, the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches were sort of the originals. I think it is one of the truer forms of the Christian faith.
  • No way. There is no true religion. They are all BS.
  • The Catholic church is the only universal christian church that has existed since the time of Jesus.Rvry other christian group is an offshoot of the catholic vhurch. The eastern orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054.The protestant communities were established during the Reformation, which began in1517.most of todays protestant groups are actually offshoots of the origional offshoots.Only the Catholic church existed in the tenth century in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by christ to the apostles,Omiting nothing. The line of popes can be traces back,in unbroken succession,to peter himself.THIS IS UNEQUALED BY ANY INSTITUTION IN HISTORY.Even the oldest government is new compared to the papacy.and the churches that send out door to door missionaries are young compared to the Catholic church. Many of these churches began as recently as the nineteenth or twentieth centuries. Some even began during your own lifetime.None of them can claim to be the church Jesus established. The Catholic church has existed for more than 2000yrs.This is contest to the churchs divine origin. It must be more than a merely human organization, especially considering that its human members and church popes have been unwise, currupt or prone to heresy.Any merely human organization with such members would have collapsed early on.The catholic church is today the most vigorous chuch in the worldand the largest.with a billion members one sixth of the human race and that is testemony not to the cleverness of the churches leaders.but to the protection of the Holy Spirit.Catholics believe the foundation of the church started when Jesus Said to Peter I give you the Keys of the Kingdome of heaven what ever you binde on earth will be in heaven which actually Jesus was thinking of the old testament while saying thes Isiah 22 when it talks about passing on authority and the Keys and Im shure the Apostles new what Jesus was talking about because they knew the old Testement.Because of Martin Luther in 1500s is why confussion started of the one True church.
  • To a Catholic.
  • Yes. Other religions do have some truth int them, but the Catholic Church is the only Church that has the fullness of truth
  • first, can i know what catholicism is,please?
  • A BIG NO!!! by far is it the true religion
  • I believe it holds the most truth, not all truth. So does the Church. JPII told us there is truth in every religion "grains of truth" I believe were his words.
  • I'm Catholic, and I belive God loves us all, so it is not the one true religion. At Catholic school we where taught we are all part of one big faimly and everyone in the world is related so those who belive that are not following Catholic Doctrin.
  • No, i think the one true church is made up of true believers not denominations
  • No, I left the catholic church specifically because I DON'T believe that it is "the 1 true religion". It has WAY too many flaws.
  • Yes, I do believe that Catholicism is the one true religion. Other religions have a varied amount of truth in them but none of them has the complete truth like the Catholic Church does.
  • Im Catholic, and I think every Religion has more truth to it than many People let on. Most Catholics believe that they do not have any lies. But here's my take on it. Every Denominations have their arrogant people who go on Heresy Hunts, and try to force their interpretations of the Bible. But, if the bible is really that difficult to understand, then how do all denominations recognize an Almighty eternal God, his Son Jesus, prophecized by the same prophets, born of a Virgin Mother, preached to the people, died for our sins, and rose agian. Plus, they follow the same ethics code. But honestly, I would say all religions have more similarities, than differences.
  • no. I would need proof
