We have planned our lives so we can afford to have lower paying, less stressful jobs close to home and don't have to commute. Money isn't a priority for us as long as we can afford the things we need to live and put a little into savings for emergencies.

I'd say about $75K US yearly, adjusted for inflation and all that. This way I could live fairly modestly, try and build a house for my mom, save for college for my kids (when I have them), and still be able to afford food and all that.
