Here is a loaded question....are illegal immigrants receiving state and federal welfare? if so, isn't this another violation of federal and state laws and another slap at all legal American citizens?

of course they are. You can have an US citizen who NEEDS (or will LITERALLY starve) assistance and they will get turned down but an illegal will get hundreds of dollars of assistance without a second thought. Low income housing has a waiting list of as long as 20 years is some places but if you are illegal, you get moved to the top of the list. If a US citizen goes to the ER having a heart attack with NO insurance, not only do they sit in the waiting room for 5-6 hours but they have to meet with someone from billing before they leave. If an illegal walks in with a hang nail and NO INSURANCE (obviously) they get right it and nobody cares..that bill won't get paid. They are killing our country and our politicians won't get off their behinds and do anything about it.. Our kids our graduating every year with less and less knowledge (illegals in schools) and they sit by and twiddle their thumbs. Nobody cares if we spend billions a year on free lunches for illegals but if an AMerican kid doesn't have lunch money and they don't "qualify" for reduction in cost, they don't eat..

Actually, the answer is YES and MAYBE. In 1996, Congress tightened welfare requirements for illegals, but the Supreme Court has held on many occasions that the Constitution prohibits state governments from discriminating based on national origin (which includes legal status). Thus, long story short, some illegals are legally receiving welfare benefits. This is also true for illegals with children who are citizens.

Yes, undoubtedly. I live in Virginia and we are dealing with it in multiple areas. The most famous of which is Prince William County. There, the county has found that federal laws limit their ability to do damage control on this issue. As a result, there are only 2 major programs that they can legally deny to illegal aliens -- geriatic day care being one and rehabilitative services for drug users being the other. As a result, the county of Prince William, VA has been labeled racist and redneck for denying these benefits and for allowing police to check legal status of those arrested for other crimes. Other states have attacked Virginia for this. The country of Mexico and the UN have sent delegations to "protect the rights of these immigrants". This is a real perception problem. The country as a whole needs to become educated as to what is really going on.
