  • I guess, back in those days it was kind of freaky. I never liked it, I always thought it was a bit goofy.
  • I got the same reaction to "The Exorcist"- which wasn't scary at all. I think it comes down to what is considered good/new at the time. In 1975, Star Wars was the cutting edge. Now we just laugh at it. Then it was awe inspiring. We just keep setting the bar higher each time so when you watch new things and then watch old things, it's not on the same level.
  • I guess it was the shock value thing...here we have this lovely couple, the woman thinks life is all good and lah-dee-dah, when she suddenly realizes her husband sold her out the the DEVIL AND SHE'S HAD HIS CHILD?!?!?!??! Back in the more religious times in which it was made, that was pretty 'out there'
  • I notice how it's easy to amuse and frighten people with movies. But I'm a little bit picky, when it comes to movies. So I know people who think 'this movie is sooo funny' or 'omg that was scary'. I seldom agree.
  • That movie dragged on for way too long and while it may have been able to build suspense and disturbing intrigue, the ending conclusion was somewhat ridiculous, if not comical. But it remains that it's an old film, and may have worked back then but no longer does now with all the things we have seen.
