Do you have a hard time reaching out for help?

How can you reach out to people who clearly don't understand WTF is going on. I heard my mom say to me out of her own mouth that, "I don't understand and I'm not going to try to understand". Kind of a bummer when you think about it and the position i'm in and all.

Yes, I have a very hard time. And when I have reached out, there have been times I've gotten lip service about "I'll call and we can talk" and that kind of thing. It's not real encouraging.

Yes. No-one gets it (at least no-one i've found so far). Everyone wants to pay lip service to being 'there', but no-one knows how to help.

Yes, immensely. I think a big part of why is because I tend to be a pretty competent person when it comes to the kind of literal problems that can even be expressed well enough in words to ask for help with them from others, so when I do feel the need to reach out for help, I usually end up giving up on the idea because I can't articulate (Or even pin down for myself, for that matter) what exactly it is I need help with.

Yes...I have always been the helper not the helpee...in the family, in my 'circle', and professionally. Right now, I need help and have to find strangers to go to...why? who knows?
