  • What? I don't know what pregnant women you've met but besides and increase in hormones that make your mind and body do wacky things, they are still themselves with good days and bad. Depending on where you're at though, later in pregnancy it can get old having weird strangers touch your belly with our without asking. Likely you've just caught some on a bad day and associated pregnancy with crankiness.
  • Because they get a increase in hormones and it can make them ratty bit like pmt im afraid lol
  • 1. Have you met all pregnant women? No 2. Have you taken a peer-reviewed study? No 3. You can't make such a blanket statement 4. Grow-up 5. No, I'm not pregnant...
  • I don't know about MOST of them, but I'm mean when I'm not pregnant too. ;-) But to answer your question, usually it's hormones (which go absolutely bonkers), often feeling sick or in pain, and because people presume that our health and stomach are public property and can be questioned and touched at will.
  • You're silly...
  • Have you ever been pregnant? The obvious answer would be "no", so you have no idea what it is like to have an alien growing inside your body and changing your moods like the altitude on a roller coaster. Incidentally, you might have better phrased your question as "why are SOME pregnant women mean?"
  • Mine is mean enough for me to do a google search to find this page to find out why they are mean. . .I think there is something to it. . ."some" pregnant women are mean (mine included)
  • i'm 8 months pregnant and i know i can be mean but not cause i'm preg. i was mean befor the fact. we just have our days like everyone else does. you have to think about how we are feeling. we are tired of having big bellies, we dont sleep well (cause of bellies), not being able to do some of the things we want to or use to. i can keep going and going. in all i'm a very nice person. us prego's have thoes days:)
  • I have no idea... but I am 7 months pregnant, and I can tell you i am a totaly bitch sometimes for no reason... and I am usually a very nice person... My poor boyfriend and family... :-( I try to be nicer, but it's almost like I can't. But some pregnant women are really really nice... and some are really weepy and sad alot. Guess it all depends on hormones.
  • hello... HORMONES?!?!? DEE-DEE-DEE
  • Carrying around a bowling ball with the knowledge that I will eventually have to pass it through my woohoo would make me cranky too.
  • well being prego is a huge thing for the female body. her mind and emotions suffer heavily. its mostly chemical changes, not to mention i would probably be very mean if i was always carrying a mass in my tummy as well
  • I have reverse periods and reverse pregnencies... Im only nice 1 week out of a month and Im the sweetest and most content human being while pregnant. Which is one reason I got my tubes tied AND burned!
  • 1 word. Hormones!
  • I think that pregnant women can be uncomfortable and then they are cranky, however, I think that you are lumping too many women into the "MOST" classification. My boss is like 8 months pregnant and I have never seen her behave in a "mean" way.
  • You carry a baby for nine months, and then we'll talk, but until then, stop hatin.
  • Those damn hormones! I was so bitchy when I was pregnant. Especially at the end when it's not just hormones - it's lack of sleep because you're too huge to get comforatable enough to sleep!
  • Some pregnant women are mean, but come on wouldn't you be in a bad mood if you were bloated, tired, hungry, nauseous, and had to pee all the time?- A lot of pregnant women go through all this, and many don't. Plus, hormones go berserk, kind of like PMS...I've never been pregnant but when I'm PMS-ing almost everything annoys me. So you see, it's not only some pregnant women...
  • They no longer need the services of a man.
  • The baby daddies are long gone with none stepping up to replace them.
  • horomones aka "horror"mones
  • Mine is too!! Everyday it is like she is trying to search for something to yell at me for. I wfh and when she comes home, I run and hide. HORMONES are scary and if you fight back, it is like quicksand. You just have to keep your mouth shut and hope it ends soon.
  • Tie a cement block around your abdomen and walk around with that bad boy on for about 4 months.......
  • umm let me think im 7 months went to bed at half 11 last nite had woken 4 times 2 go to the toilet all before it had reached 1 oclock and then on top of that what ever position i laid in i had my babys feet under my ribs kicking hell out of me along with my constant back ache and heart burn.but i still clean and cook everyday with no thanks from any1 at end of it so sometimes yeah we get a little cranky
  • some of them dont even need to be pregnant
  • Because they feel like they are going to DIE and all times lol and they cant eat the same foods, do the same things, or have the same fun. their whole life has altered withing the first couple of months, you cant blame them.
  • They are not mean.... they just have to go thru a lot and they become a lil cranky.... :)
  • Hormones, and being pregnant suits some women.
  • because their tits are sore and their hemmoriods are flared up?
  • I'd be pretty mean too if I had a baby in my stomach!
  • Its because they've got a little person growing inside them stretching their stomache to the limit, pushing on their bladder (among other things), fluctuating hormones, the way things smell and taste are dramatically different (sometimes things that you like smell horrible and the things you wouldn't ever like you crave) Its just really hard when your body is so different.
  • Protective instinct of mothering
  • Now, that's not true at all!!
  • I have known many pregnant women, dozens and dozens and have never known a mean one. If anything they radiated and glowed with the happiness of the occasion and the anticipation of the coming baby.
  • Because they know their lives are over once the monsters are produced.
  • Their menstrual cycle stops so the evil backs up in them, and comes out the other end as nagging complaining and sometimes crying. This same science explains why you shouldn't hold in your farts. They can travel up the spine and form shitty ideas.
