  • Yes it can. Basically just someone who consistintly cheats, "goes through" men/women all the time...that sort fo thing.
  • Dictionary: "A dirty, old woman." Modern slang: A girl that has sex with any and every man she wants. What's the difference between a slut and a bitch? A slut will root anyone. A bitch will root anyone except you! Usually male sluts are called 'studs'. I don't know why.
  • Slut, as I know it at least, means a very, very, very loose or promiscous person. So yes, it can apply to both genders - however, it's very rarely done.
  • I think so, also the word bi*** can go for both sexes sometimes, lol
  • Highlander, what is up with the spelling errors? Is your keyboard sticking?
  • A woman who's underappreciated for the love she shares.
  • Refers to a sexually promiscuous person, usually female. (Can also be applied to males). One who engages in sexual activity with a large number of persons, occasionally simultaneously. Also refers to one who engages in sexual activity outside of a long-term relationship within the duration of said relationship. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slut (countable) (derogatory) a slovenly, untidy person, usually a woman. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Slut Icel. slöttr a heavy, loglike fellow http://ultralingua.com/onlinedictionary/index.html?service=ee&text=slut slattern, also Eng. dial. slummock "a dirty, untidy, or slovenly person. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=slut slob, sloven, pig, slovenly person -- (a coarse obnoxious person) http://poets.notredame.ac.jp/cgi-bin/wn?cmd=wn&word=slut Slut is a term for a person who is deemed sexually promiscuous. The term has traditionally been applied to women and is often used as an insult or offensive term of disparagement. Slut has also been reclaimed as a slang term in the BDSM, polyamorous and gay and bisexual communities (see alternative uses below). It may be used by the person concerned as an expression of pride in their status, or as an expression of enviousness in the "success rate" of others. The term is not interchangeable with whore or prostitute as those terms denote a person who engages in sex for money. Geoffrey Chaucer used the word sluttish (c.1386) to describe a slovenly man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slut Somebody who is able to have sex with no emotional attachment, and usually does a lot. "It is a common misconception that all gay guys are sluts, whereas, it's only my ex-boyfriends that are." http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/Cafe/1017/lexicon.html#slut The expression 'ethical slut' refers to both males and females. It is credited with raising awareness of the possibility of consensual non-monogamy as a lifestyle, and providing practical guidance on how such long term relationships work and are put into practice.
  • Yes let's apply the word to both. No double standards.
  • A slut in my humble little lexicon is someone whose sexuality is out of their own control. It's a bit like being an alcoholic - someone whose not an alcoholic, may well drink considerably more than an alcoholic - but the alcoholic is dependent - the non-alcoholic could stop if they wanted to.
  • normally a woman who is sexually promiscuous and probably enjoys it. but we never really apply it to males, males who are sexually promiscuous are simply "studs" or "playboys" i think it should apply though
  • A slut is a promiscuous, slatternly, or slovenly woman; a woman of easy virtue. As politically correct as some would like to be, words have meanings and should (yes, this is prescriptive) be used precisely. "Slut" refers to a woman, not to either gender. There is probably no term referring to a man that corresponds exactly to "slut."
  • I like Yellowjacket's answer but would add that the choice of using or not using the word is not based on objective criteria but on personal prejudice. A woman of "easy virtue" suggests a woman who has had sexual experiences with multiple partners. The reaction of one who uses this term suggests disapproval of such conduct. The question is reasonable to ask the term to be applied to a man who has had sexual experiences with multiple partners. If approval is given to the man, then, to be fair, approval should be given to the woman.
  • A woman with the morals of a man.
  • I think it SHOULD be applicable, but in the society we live in, it is not. The word slut is associated with females. Actually, if you look at it, there are so many harsh words you can find to call a girl, but not that many for a man. A girl who has slept around a few times will probably be called a slut, whore, bitch, easy, cunt. You cant use any of these for a man. A man whose slept around is..... what is he... a jerk? Lol. The worst I can think of would be to call him a jackass or asshole. Lol. But I mean, technically there is no actual word or term to describe an "overly promiscuous" man, because in our society, there is no such thing as one. But there are plenty of girls .. :/
