  • Cash of course.
  • We kind of eloped, so there weren't many people at our wedding. When we sent out announcements (not invitations) we asked people to donate to animal organizations. The only gift we accepted was the plane tickets to Europe to get married. Keep in mind we were both almost 30 and pretty much had everything we needed.
  • Well... there are many gifts we got for our wedding which I still use daily five years later. However, I think my favorite was a little white lighter, along with a tag saying "to light the fire of romance" or some such nonsense. It was in reply to a small bundle of kindling we'd given them for their wedding. (And in addition to a "real" gift I no longer recall what it was.) Since I can't single out a "real" favorite, I'd say that "joke" gift was it.
  • Money was always a good gift, but you can only use it once then it's gone. The things we've used the most were a water purifier (the kind we keep in the refrigerator), a tea maker, and a new spice rack.
  • My grandmother gave me a set of her depression dishes.
  • I don't remember the gifts, except cash.
  • We were given 3 stools from Mexico that matched our dining room set, one each from my husband's sisters. I always loved that there were three of them and it always reminded me of them. We still have those stools, though the cats love to shred the raffia. We've used them so much through the years and hope to enjoy using them for many more:-)
  • Cash was best. Not including things on my registry since I asked for them specifically....my sister in law read a poem at the wedding, then had it printed on nice paper and framed, that was really nice. My friend made a plate at a "paint your own pottery" place with our wedding date on it and a little life saying. My mom gave us a wine rack in the shape of a wine bottle that everyone always compliments.
  • An imported china tea service from Poland. My mother worked with a lot of Polish people in Chicago. The lady that gave me the tea service name was Stasha.
  • Her finally saying she'll move out.
