It was fine. I have given a number of times. They will be gentle and it gives you an excuse to have a little rest and some orange juice. You are worrying to much.

Don't freak out about it, just relax and go with it. I, personally, had a really bad experience the one time I've given blood (it was at my high school, senior year). The problem was that there were too many people and they were understaffed and undertrained and I was ignored as I was getting really ill (I have a stomach disorder). It ended with me throwing up into a bag of used needles. I think there were a lot of bad experiences there, though, mostly because it was a bunch of 17- and 18-year-old kids and a lot of us were scared and underinformed about the process. Other people I've talked to have been fine giving blood in the past. Hope it goes well! Giving blood is a really generous and honorable thing to do.

It is fantastic giving blood, I feel so refreshed afterwards, I do it as often as I can. It's very healthy! And of course, very helpful. Don't freak out - the people who do that are super prefessional and will help put you at ease if you feel nervous.

giving blood is great ...and the tiny prick you get is so worth it when you realise how many people you will save with the gold that runs through your veins...I have given blood for over 30years and would still be doing so but 2 strokes stopped me so now they can't take my blood anymore and thst sucks ....get it !...lol

Virtually pain-free and you get a yummy cookie. And,of course, there is that whole altruism thing workin'.

I'm very annoyed to say the least but they will not take my blood. You have to be 100 lbs or over & I'm not even close but I did get tested to see if my bone marrow matches anyone who needs it

It's no problem. I used to give blood at work because you got a packet of crisps and a biscuit and I was always starving. They banned me in the end because there wasn't any blood in my alcohol system.
