I don't think so. because most of the time they're just joking around with friends. But thats just my opinion :)

No - he or she might "hate" green beans for example, and that's perfectly harmless isn't it?

Unfortunately, hate is a word that is used very often in our societies.....hate crimes, KKK, neo-nazis, the list goes on and on. It is as normal in our lives as breathing, in that respect. So, even though we WISH a 14 year old did not know the word hate or didn't feel okay saying it, that is part of their world as much as any adult.

No, it's just a word. And anyway, at 14, I believe they're young adults and aren't as stupid and innocent as people would often like to believe.

7 year olds are already using the word "hate" when they see those brussel sprouts on the table for dinner.
