I have had to and it wasnt pretty but I got the job done
-
Yes, I just did a couple of months ago. I was on the way to pick up my wife at the train station and the front left tire when flat on me. The spare tires they have nowadays are thinner than regular tires so you need to replace them as soon as you can.
-
The question is how fast could I get 'er done.
-
Yep. The first time I had a flat tire, I called my dad to come and fix it. He drove a half hour to where I was and made me change it myself, while he walked me through it.
-
Well I do know how and I have in the past but I don't think I could physically do it anymore.
-
I can change to the spare wheel and I can also take a tyre off the wheel, repair a puncture and put the tyre back onto the wheel.
-
Nah I wouldnt be able to lol! I have road side recovery with my insurance lol so think id be begging them to come out lol!
-
i can but i wont
-
for suree... I've never personally got one, but the last time I was wit someone who got one, we were in another state, leaving a deftones concert and He couldn't quite figure it out, so I had to call my boyfriend who's a mechanic and fabricator to give me directions... but then we found a nice(not sober)! metal fan to give us a hand... :)
-
Did it last month. But that's about the extent of my "mechanical" expertise.
-
LOL I have changed many over the years ... for myself, my wife, my son, my daughter, friends, and even for a few "damsels in distress". I try to avoid it though.
-
Sure. I'm smarter than a tire. Just a little but that's enough.
-
Yep. Years ago my sister and I were driving home from attending my son's graduation from Cal Berkeley..a distance of about 400 miles from home. About 100 miles from home, we got a flat tire. Between the two of us we figured out what to do, got it done, drove to the nearest gas station and bought a new tire. She called her husband so he wouldn't worry..and while it was a little intimidating at first, we felt really proud of ourselves afterwards and it is one of our favorite joint memories! :) Happy Friday! :)
-
Yes it was one of the requirements before my Mom would let me get my license. I had to know how to change a tire and check the fluid levels
-
yep :)
-
Yes, and I've done it many times, both for myself and for others I've found stranded along the road.
-
Of course.
-
Absotutely! Happy Halloween yo...;)=)
-
I could change all my tires if needed. Last time I changed a tire was February of 2007.
-
Change a tire and do alot of other repairs as well if the car were to break down. My dad had a little rule before I was allowed to drive a car, I had to be able to handle most roadside problems. :)
-
I think I could work it out on my own. I haven't had to change one yet though. Some nice fellow is always around to change it for me.
-
Yes and I have
-
yup.
-
it depends on what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing nice clothes I just stand there and look helpless. Other than that I can do full tune-ups, change oil & filter, water pumps, starters, 02 sensors, fuel pumps, starter relay, voltage regulator, coil, etc. etc. etc. I can't afford a mechanic. 1/3 of them are wrong.
-
I know how, but don't think I could actually pull it off... guess I'd call the auto club.
-
Sure Can. Never actually had to do it on my own car, but have done it many times at my summer job... worked at an auto repair shop, had to check brakes sometimes, which requires taking of the tire.
-
i think they should make it manditory on your test and also checking your oil
-
I sure do. Actually had to learn the hard way, but now I can do with no problem.
