Indubitably! When I was younger, we went to Ft Huachuca army base and saw a live demonstration of a guy taking off using a jet pack! I'll never forget the DIRT that guy caused to get into my eyes when he took off!!!

their are a couple different ones. one you see in the video pic. it has about a min and change for lift, their is one that uses a single turbine upside down sucking from underneath and curling around the top and spitting thrust down. another has 8 mini turbines (it just came out and i dont think it worked well.) and the last i know of is one with two large ducted fans. i heard they are working on it now.
