Well as soon as you put it on it usually comes off anyways so why give your s/o the hassle. Im sure he wouldn't mind if you just strolled into the room naked.

I think its kinda tacky, I think a little tank top and some hipster style panties are cute...that or a leather girdle and mask with the zippers

IT IS worth buying it! Most of all, wearing a nice lingerie makes you feel good and sexy. Also my bf seems appreciate and enjoy nice lingeries (on me) too :-p

If we're talking about attraction then yes, definitely. Men are attracted visually so lingerie is a great way to get them going (if you know what I mean). And they'll love you for making the effort!
