Only if you plan to dry up the rivers, lakes and oceans too. And this doesn't exactly belong in guns, except it's a gun-parody question, almost as funny as the Rwandan Genocide version of a little bit ago.
-
very since children die in the tub too.
-
Why don't we just make the everything out of Nerf so no one will ever get hurt ever again then we will all live forever.
-
I think it's easier to teach them to swim at a early age.
-
Parents watching their own children = no innocent children drowning deaths. How hard is THAT to understand?
-
parents need to "Drown Proof" their kids. Water awareness. Pool alarms. A child can drown in a bucket filled with 4" of water.
-
EVERYTHING is dangerous. We can die at ANY time, doing ANYTHING. We are alive, therefore we are going to die! You can't take away everything that is hazardous, because the world would be a very boring place. How hard is THAT to understand??

All in ground pools are required to have a fence around them, the above ground aren't. Maybe Adult supervision could lower the rate of children drowning. It's unrealistic to eliminate all pools. Children have drowned in bath tubs probably due to a lack of supervision.Should we eliminate those too?
-
So I guess we should concrete over all the ponds, lakes and streams, while we are at it too. Oh don't forget the bathtubs and we really should dry up those oceans some how too.
-
Actually, according to the book 'Freakonomics'... http://www.amazon.com/Freakonomics-Revised-Expanded-Economist-Everything/dp/0061234001/ it is statistically MORE likely that a child will drown in a swimming pool than be killed by a gun shot. Make of that what you will...:-?...
-
Also, not having kids = no innocent children's drowning deaths. Or, if you just beat your kids with a baseball bat until you completely smash their littles heads in, they will be too dead to possibly be able to drown. See, there are a lot of alternatives.
-
WOOOOOOO!!! My trolls are out in force today. I LOVE YOU!!! Thank you for making me feel so special!!
-
Homer did something like this on an episode of the simpsons. He covered any sharp corners or dangerous place with bubble wrap. Turned the kids into total wimps.
-
It's not the pool's fault.
-
What about drownings in Lakes and buckets...There would still be Innocent childrens Drowning deaths.
-
Well, The facts are any children under the age of three have a good chance of drowning in, get this, just two inches of water. So, theoretically, ALL water can be harmful. So, you can kiss that dream goodbye. Besides, swimming is fun.
-
Although I hope not, I think there is some personal tragedy behind you asking this question? Anyway I think this is same as saying No cars = No accidents! Problem is not with the pools but with the people who bring their kids to pools and then forget about them.
