  • I am not 100% sure, but I seriously doubt it! I would say it could do 45 degrees at most.
  • Not for any significant time or distance. With enough speed an unloaded 747 might be able to pull nose up to vertical but would very quickly stall as it loses speed. The thrust to weight ratio is not nearly high enough for really steep climb.
  • This would put undue strain on the elevators and cause a huge decrease in airspeed, resulting in a stall. Not to mention that this pilot would be holding his ears from all of the alarms going off in the cockpit.
