    It always depends on the quality of the coin. The estimated sales price (ie what a dealer will charge) is 15c for a penny in very good quality. Any coin under very good is essentially worth... a penny.

    For a coin to be considered very good (VG) it should have the lettering clear, the hair lines on George IV should still be visible.

    A penny in Uncirculated (UC) condition would sell for about $5.

    Expect dealers to pay nothing more than half of that when buying coins from you. There are a number of people trying to sell the coin for 99c on eBay as well.
