I'm sorry I don't exactly have an answer for you, but just be careful with your chows, they can be meanies... Mine were extremely jealous.

How about a west Highland White Terrier. I grew up with one and they are one of the cutest nicest and loyalist dogs I ever had the pleasure to know.

a deserving mutt from a shelter. just make sure your chows have an opportunity to meet him before you bring him home.

Miniature Pinscher. Great dogs! Good companions, very smart. Good with children. Here's a pic of mine. I don't know about all of them but, mine also get along well with other dogs.
