Go to any paint store and purchase a product named "Diff" wallpaper remover. Follow directions on bottle. Other ways are to make a solution of one part vinegar to two parts water. Take a sponge and wet the wall; keeping it wet till it starts to bubble. Using a taping knife, or other scraping tool, work it behind the wallpaper. All the time keeping the wallpaper wet. After removing the wallpaper, be sure and wash all of the paste residue off the walls with plenty of CLEAN water.

There is a more effective way of taking down wallpaper. in a house i was refurburshing one room had 7 layers. they came off easy with a little bit of window washer fluid...the blue liquid you put in you car....its dirt cheap...like 99 cents a gallon and it works wonders....just spray it on your wallpaper liberally and let it sit...in a couple of minutes the wallpaper will come off like butter....good luck

with a wallpaper steamer tool bought from the diy shop or cheaper option, using washing-up liquid mixed with warm water in a bucket. Sponge onto walls ensuring all layers of paper are thoroughly soaked - scrap off. Afterward use sugar soap to remove old adhesive.

Best way is with a steamer and a scrapper, break the surface of the wallpaper by cutting crisscross with the corner of the scrapper then steam the paper whilst scrapping it off.

Steam. You could also save a lot of work and just paint/drywall/panel/etc. right over the wallpaper.
