  • I can't think of a real-life scenario where radically altering your physical appearance or harming yourself would accomplish anything beneficial. So, no.
  • In terms of ear piercings (or other non extreme piercings, *I'd say knuckles are extreme piercings) or tattoos mutilation isn't terrible. Cutting yourself if you are depressed is something that isn't good and is something that help is needed for.
  • Not at all i've been doing it for almost 6 years now and it has turned into an addiction at first it gives you the relief and it helps you deal with your emotions and then it takes over your life so no its not a good thing.
  • No there is nothing good about feeling so much pain and hurt you can't find any other way to get rid of it other than self mutilation.. which very soon becomes an addiction that very few are able to overcome.
  • No. Mutilation should only be done by a licensed professional.
  • Not in any way. It may help you escape problems in the short term, but in the long term many people end up with scars all over and regret ever doing it.
  • Only when it improves your looks.
  • Im sure Michael Jackson think so...
  • No, not in any form unless you are talking ear piercing.
  • Though generally I would agree with the other statements of no... I think yes, in some ways. I am an ex-cutter, and you know, I think in some situations it prevented me from doing something more drastic. Cut, instead of attempting something like suicide. A lesser of two evils if you will.
  • I am going to go against the flow on this one I do believe that it CAN be a good thing to a certain extent. Only because for some people who are on the edge of suicide self injure and that small relief that it gives them might just hold off their suicide a little longer
  • In what way?
