  • If you are single with no dependents, an online will might be OK but you still have to be concerned about specific state procedural issues. The software should be state specific. If you are dealing with a lot of assets, children, tax issues and the like, I do not recommend doing it yourself. It's probably worth it to have it done correctly the first time by an attorney. Thereafter, you can make minor changes yourself without the need for an attorney.
