My W-2 forms were mailed to an old address and I'm concerned about a stranger getting my information. If someone does get my information, would I have any recourse?

    Not really. You should have changed your address with both your former employer and the US Postal Service. If the person who gets your personal information then steals your identity and you can prove who it is, then you could prosecute them.
